Bow gold diamond stud earrings, Retro jewelry

A decorative pair of Retro earrings set with diamond, bow shaped, 18kt rose gold, crafted in Belgium circa 1950’s, excellent condition… A touch of history.

STYLE SPECIFICS : Retro - Retro Style is a recent designation for the period in the forties when large scale, stylized geometric forms, drapes, bows or ribbons were all the rage. Pink Gold, set with colored stones, sometimes in floral forms was common.

SOURCE OF INSPIRATION : bow tie
MATERIAL : 18K intense red gold
DIAMONDS : Two semi-modern brilliant cut diamonds with a total estimated weight of approx. 0.40 crt. Their cut is semi-modern as the stones are polished around 1950 which means that although to today's standards they are considered to be modern brilliant cuts, their cullet (the point at the bottom) are still polished flat.
BIRTHSTONES : Diamond is the birthstone (or month stone) for the month April (common attributions to diamond)
WEIGHT : 9.40 gram (6.04 dwt)
HALLMARKS : Belgian origin since 1952 - We are sure of the origin of this jewel because the outer shape of the master mark is in the shape of a barrel (that was taken in use in Belgium since 1952).
CONDITION : Excellent condition - (our condition scale)
