OBJECT GROUP : brooches
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN : Although it does not carry any legible control marks we believe it is of Dutch origin.
STYLE : Art Deco
STYLE SPECIFICS : Deco and Edwardian characteristics - This piece carries the characteristics of two distinctive styles from the same era. Abstract motives and geometrical
forms are quite typical for the Art Deco period while the fineness of line and lacey aspect of the piece are typical for the Edwardian period. Because both styles ran concurrently, we
sometimes, like in this case, notice pieces that carry both influences.
