A touch of history ... Absolute stunning precious stones dragonfly.
The Art Nouveau resulted from a revolt against the rigid styles of the previously mass-produced wares and a
philosophy that sought to revive the craft movement and aestheticism in art. It featured free-flowing, curving lines with
asymmetrical natural motifs, such as this beautiful dragonfly we have here.
This elegant insect is suffused with all sorts of precious stones. Its long slender wings are set
with no less then 38 old mine brilliant cut diamonds
and four beautiful rubies. It's a true shame that rubies are so hard to photograph because the true color of the rubies is
much warmer then shown on the picture. Its body is set with a fresh green colored peridot while its sticklike tail is
set with nine
demantiods.
The yellowish-green variety of garnet that is used here is called "demantoid"
and it is this type of garnet that is the most expensive of its group.
A jewel like this is an absolute conversation piece and will attrackt a lot of attention while being worn.
