French parure du cou maintenon cross pendant

This is a superb late 17th/early 18th century French "parure de cou" (circa 1675-1725). The pendant is composed of a cross suspended to a golden bow. This type of cross is called 'croix de Maintenon' and finds its origin in Arles. It is made in 18K warm yellow gold and features 56 rose cut diamonds, set on silver foil. These crosses are mostly worn on a ribbon around the neck.

DIAMONDS : 56 rose cut diamonds. We do not have the weight of the diamonds which is normal in our trade when it comes to rose cuts.
