Characteristic Retro diamonds & rubies ring

STYLE : Retro
STYLE SPECIFICS : Retro - Retro Style is a recent designation for the period in the forties when large scale, stylized geometric forms, drapes, bows or ribbons were all the rage. Pink Gold, set with colored stones, ometimes in floral forms was common.
PERIOD : 1940
MATERIAL : 18K bi-color gold (red and white), although the most of this jewel is in red gold, the diamonds are set in white gold. This finds it origin in a much older period where it was common for diamonds to be set in silver (see explanation on silver on gold).
DIAMONDS : Fifteen rose cut diamonds. We do not have the weight of the diamonds which is normal in our trade when it comes to rose cuts.
PRECIOUS STONES : Four square cut Verneuil rubies
WEIGHT : 6.40 gram (4.12 dwt)
HALLMARKS : No trace
