Jubilee cut

A style of cutting a large diamond, of which the main feature is the absence of a table, in lieu of which there are on the crown 8 trapezium-shaped bezel facets rising to a central apex, and abutting these 8 smaller trapezium-shaped bezel facets, all making a symmetrical pattern that is surrounded by 16 star facets and then 16 cross facets, the sides of which form the girdle. On the pavilion there are 16 facets in addition to the usual 24, and no culet. There is thus a total of 88 (sometimes only 80) facets.

The cut was developed, as an American modification of the brilliant cut, in the early 20th century and named in honour of Queen Victoria's jubilee; sometimes called the 'Twentieth-century cut'.
