Pendeloque rose cut

A style of cutting a diamond (or other transparent gemstone) in a modification of the rose cut, so that the stone is somewhat pear-shaped (rounded at the bottom end and pointed at the top) but having a flat-base and no table. There are usually 24 triangular facets, cut in 4 horizontal rows, with 5 facets in the top and bottom rows and 7 facets in the 2 middle rows. Sometimes the stone is cut as a double rose, in the form of two such cut stones placed base to base; it is then intended to be worn as a pendant.
