Plaque brooch

A type of brooch in the general form of a plaque, usually rectangular (sometimes with curved corners) with the area within the border almost entirely filled in and with little or no decoration extending outside the border. Such brooches are usually heavily encrusted with gemstones, often in pavé setting.
