Stirrup ring

A type of finger ring of which the hoop is elongated so that the hoop and its extensions on the two sides of the bezel suggest the shape of a stirrup. Such rings were made in the Middle Ages; an example has been found in England from the mid-12th century, and others were made in England from c. 1200.
